HVAC Project Intern

O’Connor Company is a manufacturer’s representative, supplying heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment to contractors and commercial customers.  We also supply after-market parts and supplies and pride ourselves on being a technical resource in the commercial HVAC industry.  We have been in business since 1971 and have offices in Sioux Falls and Rapid City South Dakota.  We are a growing company with great opportunities for career development. 

Enhance your understanding of mechanical engineering through involvement with commercial HVAC projects.  You will help our staff with research and documentation.  Each project is unique, allowing you to see varied applications of HVAC principles.

Duties include:

  • Review job specifications for pertinent details and approvals.
  • Do job take-off from mechanical blueprints.
  • Assemble and submit shop drawings, O & M Manuals and documentation for projects.
  • Monitor and document status of jobs, orders and ship dates. 
  • Communicate with customers on the status of various jobs and orders.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Currently, or planning to pursue education in a construction-related field.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and to include good phone etiquette.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to maintain good relationships with customers, contractors and coworkers.
